Chairman Lesetja announced the plan this morning, declaring, "Clean streets are safe streets. When our communities look neglected, crime moves in. We are taking back our neighbourhoods—one block at a time." The initiative will see volunteers fan out across targeted hotspots, clearing illegal dumping sites, cutting overgrown verges, and removing litter that has blighted several suburbs for too long. "This is about pride, not just pavement," Lesetja added, calling on residents to join the effort with brooms, bags, and boots on the ground.

Secretary Mologadi confirmed that the NPO has secured support from local businesses and the Tshwane waste management department, ensuring that collected refuse will be removed promptly. "We are not here to point fingers—we are here to pick up litter and build a culture of care," she said. Secretary General Tshepo urged Pretorians to see the clean-up as the start of a sustained campaign, not a one-off event. "This is the first step in a long-term commitment to keep our city clean and our people proud. We want young people to see that they have a stake in their environment," Tshepo concluded.
